Ok, I know I’ve never had to do it – my husband did all the proposing in our relationship. He managed to make it fun and effective at the same time 
Looking back on it now, he obviously had planned the proposal for quite a while. The evening was relaxed, he had gone to a lot of trouble to set the scene. We ate a lovely meal, accompanied by a glass or two of wine, had some delicious coffee and chocolates, served in front of a roaring log fire. When he finally asked me to marry him, I was so stunned that I took a few minutes to get to the right answer.
